SUMMARY:Art in Conversation
DESCRIPTION:Art in Conversation\n\nThe Frederic Remington Art Museum hosts monthly Art in Conversation events with FRAM Education Manager\, Julie Pratt. Each month Julie explores different topics and themes as they relate to the artwork. Sessions feature 60-minutes of focused looking\, consideration\, conversation\, and interpretation of the artwork.\n\n \n\nFebruary Session Details:\n\nDive into not one but two of Remington's later paintings! The conversation will focus on The Sundance and Evening in the Desert.\n\n \n\nIt's easy to get lost in the world Remington creates\, but it's important to step back and see his work in context. He painted his iconic Old West scenes during a time when America was buzzing with progress and innovation! In this session\, discuss placing his work back in its historical setting - who were his contemporaries\, and whose paintings would have been hanging alongside his?\n\n \n\nThis program is an on-site/virtual hybrid\; participants can join the conversation remotely via Zoom or in person at the Museum.
