SUMMARY:Cardboard Sled Races
DESCRIPTION:CARDBOARD SLED RACES\n\n\n\nGet ready for a morning of creativity and excitement at the 7th Annual Cardboard Sled Races\, hosted by Nature Up North! Taking place at the SUNY Canton Sledding Hill\, this event challenges participants to design and race their very own cardboard sled creations. The race will take place on Saturday\, February 24th.\n\n\n\nWhether you're racing as a team or going solo\, each sled must include at least one driver. Don't miss the chance to showcase your creativity for some family-fun competition!  \n\n\n\nAt 10:30am there will be the "parade of sleds" and sled judging\, with the races beginning immediately thereafter. Sleds will be judged overall\, for special categories\, and by division for the fastest time!\n\n\n\nNot sure how to build a cardboard sled? Stop by Nature Up North's Sled-Building Workshop at the Wachmeister Field Station between 10:00am and 1:00pm on Saturday\, Sunday\, January 19th or Saturday\, February 1st. Your hosts\, Nature Up North\, will teach you everything you need to know and provide any materials you don't bring yourself!\n\n\n\nApproved materials: Cardboard\, duct tape\, recycled plastic bags\, paint\, and glue\n\n\n\nDivisions: Youth (12 and under)\, Open (13 and up)\, Family (multi-ages) and College\n\n\n\nRegistration: Click HERE to register\, or email info@natureupnorth.org with your team name\, participant names and grades\, and division. Day of registration will also be available from 10:00am - 10:30am.\n\n\n\nRain/weather date: February 11th and 24th\, 10:00am - 1:00pm. Any rescheduling will be announced the day before on social media and at natureupnorth.org. The first reschedule will be to the 9th\, then the 22nd if poor weather persists.\n\n\n\nDirections and Parking: The SUNY Canton sledding hill is located on the southeast side of campus\, between Kennedy Hall and the Footbridges. From downtown Canton\, head west on Hwy 68 to SUNY Canton. Turn onto Cornell Drive\, and take a right at the first Y toward the river. Turn left on Miller Drive and park in Lot 1.
