This event will inspire and educate community leaders\, community planners and other interested parties (economic developers\, business owners\, land developers\, etc.) on best practices in placemaking and successful programs implemented in various communities throughout the North Country. By providing a networking and learning experience we hope to generate new ideas for communities throughout the North Country and encourage them to take the next steps in creating vibrant and thriving downtowns.\n\n\n\n---\n\n\n\nThe program will begin with an introduction to Placemaking and will continue with live examples of development success stories from around the region. Panel discussions will include:\n\n\n\nHow We Built This: Learn how Clayton has worked collaboratively toward becoming a premier North Country community\n\n\n\nThe Path to DRI Success: Communities will share how they prepared and positioned themselves for a successful Downtown Revitalization Initiative application\n\n\n\nCreative Placemaking: Utilizing State and Federal Programs to Better Your Community Core - panelists will discuss successful programs implemented in development efforts across the region\n\n\n\n---\n\n\n\nOnce our panels are complete\, we invite guests to participate in roundtable breakout sessions in the community! Participants will select one of the following sessions to attend:\n\n\n\nSession 1: Strategic event planning to support Placemaking\n\nThis session will be held at O'Briens Restaurant & Bar\, 226 Webb St\, Clayton\, NY.\n\n\n\nSession 2: Anchor Development to enhance downtowns: 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel Case Study\n\nThis session will be held at 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel\, 200 Riverside Dr\, Clayton\, NY.\n\n\n\nSession 3: Small Businesses: Carrying a community renaissance\n\nThis session will be held at Di Prinzio's Kitchen\, 428 Riverside Dr\, Clayton\, NY.\n\n\n\n\n\n**This event is free to attend\, however\, breakout sessions will be held in local restaurants\, guests are responsible for lunch expenses**
