SUMMARY:SLC Arts Council Exhibit Opening Featuring Liza LaBarge's "Lace Lines"
DESCRIPTION:"Lace Lines" opens Friday\, November 6 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the SLC Arts Gallery. This solo exhibit features drawings and sculptural forms by Liza LaBarge of Norwood\, NY.\n\n\n\nLaBarge's large-scale charcoal drawings merge the real with the surreal to create allegorical works. This particular exhibit explores the ever-changing roles of femininity today. LaBarge says\, "The detailed weaving and threading of the crochet lace within my drawings is a visual representation for the idea that we as humans are all shaped by many different directions\, traditions\, and past histories linking together to form one life." LaBarge holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Visual Studies from the University at Buffalo.\n\n\n\n"Lace Lines" will be on display at the SLC Arts Gallery at the Potsdam Town Hall\, 18 Elm Street\, through November 30. The exhibit and opening are free and open to the public\, and wheelchair accessible. The Gallery is open during Town Hall business hours\, Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. For more information about this exhibit\, contact 315-265-6860\, or visithttp://slcartscouncil.org/?p=1399.
