Description

Prohibition Talk
Booze, Badboys and Bootleggers author James E. Reagen will be making a special appearance at the Ogdensburg History Museum on June 12th at 7pm. Reagen, a former editor of the Ogdensburg Journal and communications director for Senator Patty Ritchie, has written several local history books and will be sharing his knowledge and insights on the Prohibition era in Ogdensburg and the North Country.

Reagen’s presentation will take the audience on a journey through the  colorful history of Ogdensburg during the dry crusade. Get ready to learn about speakeasies and bootleggers that made the city far from dry.

Reagen’s presentation will cover a range of topics, including the infamous Brenno gang and their defense of the Red Devil Pool Hall and Speakeasy from a police raid in 1922,  U.S. Customs Regional Director Henry Holland’s indictment in the shooting death of a Watertown gangster, and the murder attempt on a local cab driver.

Join us at the Ogdensburg History Museum, located at 206 Ford St., for an evening of history, intrigue, and entertainment. This event is open to the public and admission is free. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about the fascinating history of Prohibition era Ogdensburg from an expert in the field. See you on June 12th at 7pm.
