SUMMARY:"Consider This" Ghost Stories
DESCRIPTION:"Consider This" Ghost Stories\n\n\n\nThis unfinished work is a fascinating look into how Remington constructed his paintings. Looking at it in person allows you to see how he sketched out the figures and built up his layers of paint\, which is very rare! \n\nIt is also interesting to note that the title Ghost Stories was not given by the artist himself\, but rather named after his passing. The title gives strong suggestions as to what these men may be discussing but knowing that the artist didn't name it that kind of changes things a bit\, don't you think? What was he going to name it? What were his intentions for this piece? Why is it unfinished? We just simply don't know but it makes for an interesting conversation!\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n "Consider This" is for all ability levels\, and no art background is required. Participants simply need an interest in joining the conversation. A different artwork is featured each month\, with two program sessions to choose from.\n\n Museum Experience Manager & Educator Julie Pratt alongside docents Luanne Herzog and Kathy Crowe\, will present two 30-minute lunchtime conversations about Remington's early sculptures.\n\n \n \n Friday\, October 11th at 12pm with Luanne (at the Museum only)\n \n \n Wednesday\, October 23rd at 12pm with Julie Pratt and Kathy Crowe (at the Museum and via Zoom)\n \n \n\n To learn more and to register\, please call 315-393-2425 or email Julie at jupratt@fredericremington.org.\n\n Each session features focused looking\, consideration\, conversation\, and interpretation of the artwork. Programs are offered at noon\, so that even working people can join the conversation during their lunch and bring art into their workday.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n\n\n\n \n\n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n Participation via Zoom is free\; on-site participation is free with admission to the Museum\, thanks to generous support of The Enchanted Edible Forest at Cross Island Farms.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n\n\n\n \n\n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n While at the Museum make sure to visit our beautiful exhibit of Sally James Farnham sculptures.
