DESCRIPTION:D a de los Muertos Family Fun\n\n\n\nJoin the St. Lawrence County Center for History & Culture (SLCCHC) on Saturday\, October 5 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM to learn about the history and customs of the Day of the Dead\, or Dia de los Muertos\, celebrated in Central and South America and the United States! Help to create a memorial ofrenda\, or altar\, in the Silas Wright House.\n\n\n\nFamilies can make the traditional decorative paper\, papel picado\, to add to the altar\, and create a sugar skull (calaverita) to take home. Participants are encouraged to bring a small photograph of a loved one they wish to commemorate to add to the Silas Wright altar.\n\n\n\nChildren can also get their faces painted with Halloween or Dia de los Muertos imagery for a small additional fee. Loteria (a Mexican board game similar to bingo) will be available to play.\n\n\n\nThis program is perfect for children ages 5+. Activities will be led by Alondra Maldonado Espinosa and Megan Royce.\n\n\n\nRecommended Ages: Ages 5+ Registration recommended. Space is limited.
