The Acapella North Chorus from Potsdam, NY is looking for women who love to sing and would like the experience of singing the balanced sounds of 4-part acapella barbershop harmony. The chorus is part of Sweet Adelines International and is hosting a “BARBERSHOP BOOTCAMP” every Tuesday evening during the month of October beginning Tuesday, October 4th from 6:30-9:00 PM at the Lawrence Avenue Elementary School, Potsdam, NY. It’s is free to interested females and there’s no commitment. Participants will experience laughter and harmony during each of the four weekly sessions. The first hour will consist of singing in a small group with other novice singers and learning the "tricks of the trade" when it comes to singing this popular form of acapella music style. From there, the guests will be invited to watch and eventually join the chorus on the risers as it completes its regular rehearsal. At first, finding the parts in the harmony and being exposed to the multi-layered songs is daunting, but it quickly becomes easier and enjoyable. Watching and listening to the whole chorus perform is a unique experience and a great way to see how much fun singing harmony can be. Chorus members range in age from high school students to seniors of all decades and all walks of life who are passionate about singing harmony.
