Have you ever wanted to learn more about your ancestors? Are you just curious about genealogy in general? We are pleased to announce a series of genealogy workshops for beginners to be held this spring.

On four consecutive Saturdays in March and April, members of the St. Lawrence County Historical Association and the St. Lawrence Valley Genealogical Society, who are experienced genealogical researchers, will present information covering all the basics to allow you to trace your family history. All workshops will be held at the Historical Association, 3 East Main Street, Canton.

March 30^th - genealogy basics, charts and forms, and organizing your family tree; April 6^th session - vital records, census records, and newspaper resources;

April 13^th session - probate records, property records, and other useful categories such as cemetery and military records;

April 20^th session - using internet resources to research your family tree.

Those interested may register for all four sessions, or for a selection of individual sessions. The registration fee for all four sessions is $30 for members of the St. Lawrence County Historical Association, $35 for non-members, and fees for individual session are $8 for members, $10 for non-members. Registration for the first three sessions will be limited to 15 people on a first come, first served basis.
