Pressure Canning 101 Workshop
Pressure canning is an amazing technique to preserve low acid foods such as meat, beans, soups and vegetables that cannot be safely preserved with water bath canning. Join this class to demystify the process and see the steps in action from beginning to end. With the right tools and knowledge, this method can be empowering, not intimidating!

Workshop Includes:

  • Opportunity to take part in canning process start to finish, using vegetables grown in Northern, NY
  • Background information on why and how pressure canning works
  • Examples of four different models of pressure canners
  • Bringing home a jar of vegetables
  • Handouts and recipes
  • Ample time for questions. The instructors for this in-person workshop are Carol Budd and other Master Food Preserver volunteers.
