As seasons change and people spend more time indoors, it is critical that businesses understand the way Covid-19 travels in order to create a safe environment for employees and customers and strengthen your business' resiliency.

Professor Byron D. Erath Ph.D (Clarkson) will share visual examples to illustrate the movement of virus particles and general considerations for your business. Knowledge shared will help business owners and managers better understand the virus so that proper protocols and training can be implemented at your business.

From office to sales floor, restaurant to plant production facility - a better understanding of the virus will help improve every business situation.

Presenter: Byron Erath received his Ph.D. from Purdue University in 2009. After completing post-doctoral research at the George Washington University, he joined the faculty of Clarkson University in 2012. His research is focused on experimental investigations of fluid-structure-acoustic interactions, with an emphasis on voiced speech production. In 2019 he was awarded both the Clarkson University Excellence in Research and Scholarship, and the Pi Tau Sigma Professor of the year. In 2020 he was awarded a grant from the National Science Foundation, as well as the Clarkson Ignite Fellowship program, to investigate airborne transport of the SARS-CoV-2 virus due to speech.

This program is presented in partnership by the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, SUNY Canton SBDC, St. Lawrence County IDA, Center for Advanced Materials Processing (Clarkson University) and the New York Power Authority and member organizations of the SLC Small Business Working Group.
