Folk Art Expressions of St. Lawrence County and Artist Q&A
Join WPBS on Thursday, January 18th at 6:30 pm at The TAUNY Center in Canton, NY for a screening and reception of Folk Art Expressions of St. Lawrence County. Co-hosted by TAUNY (Traditional Arts in Upstate New York), a nonprofit organization dedicated to showcasing the folk culture and living traditions of New York’s North Country, the screening will include 5 segments featuring folk culture in St. Lawrence County:

• Roxanne Locy | Pottery
• Ruth Varley | Jewelry Artisan
• Mathilde Lind | Folklorist and Weaver
• Sarah Platt | Barn Quilt Art Teacher
• Matt Rozler | Woodworking

The event is free and open to the public. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served, along with some musical entertainment. This collection of stories that was generously supported by Badenhausen Legacy. The artists featured in this series will be in attendance - Come and meet the 5 folk artists and see their work firsthand!
