CANTON — The St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce has hired veteran journalist Tom Graser as its new Community and Membership Relations Manager.
 
Graser, formerly the St. Lawrence and Franklin County Editor for Northern New York Newspapers, began his new role on Monday, Aug. 18.
 
“The St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce is absolutely thrilled to have Tom Graser on our staff,” said Ben Dixon, the Chamber's Executive Director. “Tom brings to the team extensive experience in communications and a deep understanding of our region and its communities. I know Tom to be passionate about, and dedicated to, our communities, and he will be a tremendous contributor to the engagement and support of our members and the business leaders of the county.”
 
In his new role, Graser will be responsible for communications, social media and membership relations and will serve as the Canton community coordinator. He will work to strengthen relationships with local member businesses and organizations by coordinating and communicating events, programs, and business development opportunities in the Canton area.
 
Graser, who has been a member of the Chamber's Board of Directors since 2020, expressed his commitment to the region.
 
“I have been a small-town, community-oriented newspaper editor for most of my career,” Graser said. “I have been dedicated to improving every community in which I have lived.”
 
Graser and his family moved to Canton from Marion, Ohio, in 2013. He also served on the steering committee of Ogdensburg Relay for Life for several years.
