St. Lawrence County Seeks Tourism Input from Business Owners and Residents with Online Survey
As tourism continues to be a key driver of economic development in the North Country, the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce is seeking feedback from residents throughout the county and local business owners in the tourism industry regarding interest and willingness to participate in county tourism initiatives as well as sentiments surrounding specific tourism sectors, including attractions, lodging, dining, and retail.
In alignment with the Chamber’s ‘resident-first’ tourism strategy, insights are being collected using a short online survey that invites business owners and residents to share their sentiments on business readiness as it relates to visitors, the role tourism plays in their success and quality of life, and how the Chamber can better support stronger connections between local businesses and visitors.
Led by chamber staff Tiffani Amo, Director of Tourism, and Davis Wood, Sustainable Tourism Advocacy Intern, the survey insights will help the Chamber tailor its tourism outreach, develop more effective destination development programs, and create more effective marketing strategies.
“The survey is short and simple, but the potential insights are invaluable,” said Amo. “This is a direct way for us to ensure that future tourism efforts will provide value to our communities while also bolstering the long-term economic success of St Lawrence County.”
The survey, which takes less than 5 minutes to complete, is intended to more closely align tourism efforts with resident needs whilst simultaneously creating positive visitor experiences driven by authentic and effective tourism marketing campaigns. Input gathered will directly inform the Chamber’s strategies for strengthening tourism-related business promotion throughout the County.
“I’m looking forward to seeing how people will respond to this and then being able to analyze the results for a meaningful purpose,” said Wood. “It will be exciting to work with the team to put all of the information to good use for future project planning.”
To participate in the survey, visit www.VisitSTLC.com/tourism-survey and submit responses by Tuesday, June 24th. For more information contact Davis Wood at intern@slcchamber.org or 315-386-4000.
